How to use the Course Sections Status page
To select the records that you wish to display, you first need to select an option from the following two drop down menus:
Semester and Search Type
The Semester drop down menu is used to select from the available semesters.
The Search Type drop down menu contains the following items:
Departments Course Name Description
You may also filter the results by selecting a check mark beside the appropriate option in the Status Table below. Only options that appear checked will will be displayed in the results.
Departments
This option will change the search item textbox into a dropdown box showing a list of departments. Select one of these from the list and click on the Search button to display a list of Course Sections for that department.
Course Name
Example: If you had a course called MATH 1234 01 you would select Course Name from the drop down menu and enter this into the Search Item field and click on the SUBMIT button..
To list all similar courses you can enter it partially like this:
MATH 1234 01 or MATH 1234 or MATH
You can even enter it without any spaces like this MATH123401 or MATH1234
Description Select 'Description' from the 'Search Type' drop down menu In the Search Item field you would simply enter a few characters of a subject that you wish to list courses for. e.g. if you entered 'vehicle' you would get a listing of any course that had that word in the description. Then click on the SUBMIT button. Be aware that descriptions within this database may not match exactly those contained within the printed course schedule, so try entering partial descriptions rather than a full description.
Example: When looking for a course with a description of 'Basic Mathematics Lab' try entering just 'mathematics' at first. If this doesn't narrow it down enough for you, then you may enter 'basic math' etc. This field is not case sensitive so you may enter either 'math' or 'MATH' and it will retrieve the same results.
